NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) — Authorities say a woman is in critical condition with burns on about 80 percent of her body after a fire broke out overnight at a North Las Vegas senior citizens complex.

Crews responded about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday to the Salvation Army Silvercrest Apartments and found one unit filled with smoke and the resident suffering severe burns. She was taken to University Medical Center.

Firefighters used large fans to move smoke out of the apartment and salvage other units. The main fire was put out by sprinklers.

No firefighters and no other residents were hurt in the fire.

Officials are still investigating.
