CAMDEN, N.J. (MyFoxPhilly) - Two people died in a rowhouse fire in Camden on Friday morning that spread to homes on either side of it.
A third person was injured and taken to Cooper University Hospital after the two-alarm blaze.
The fire broke out on Thurman Street just after 5 a.m. It started inside an occupied home and quickly spread to the adjoining homes, one of which was also occupied.
Camden Fire Dept. Chief Michael Harper called the damage "pretty extensive."
"It started in the one property, and it extended to both sides," he said. "So, we did have a large volume of fire upon arrival, and the guys had to cut it off and stop it in two of the exposures."
Firefighters don't know how it started. The investigation is still ongoing.
