BRECKSVILLE, Ohio (AP) — A suburban Cleveland fire chief says firefighters dragged water hoses hundreds of feet through the woods to extinguish a blaze in a train car at a national park.
The Brecksville fire chief tells WEWS-TV the flames in the Cuyahoga (keye-uh-HOH'-guh) Valley National Park were reported Wednesday, shortly before midnight. The area has no fire hydrants, so firefighters used hoses that were linked to water tanks and carried through the woods to reach the scene.
The flames engulfed one train car, but firefighters stopped them from reaching a second car. It wasn't immediately clear whether the cars were part of the scenic railroad that runs through the 33,000-acre park.
No injuries were reported. The fire chief says the blaze is suspicious and the cause is under investigation.
