LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Authorities say three men are badly burned following a house explosion and fire in Lansing.
The Lansing State Journal and WILX-TV report fire officials say the men were placed into medically-induced comas because of the extent of their injuries following the early Tuesday explosion. Two of the men were sent for treatment in Ann Arbor, while the third was sent to a Grand Rapids hospital.
Thirteen-year-old Azalea Lundy lives across the street from the two-story house with her mother, Angel. The girl told the newspaper she heard the men screaming and watched her mother use a hose to help douse flames on their bodies.
The cause of the explosion, which was reported to the Lansing fire department by a neighbor, is under investigation. A house next door also was damaged.
