SOUTH JORDAN, Utah (AP) — Firefighters have contained a three-alarm fire that burned across a South Jordan golf course, causing minor injuries and damaging several structures.
South Jordan Battalion Chief Reed Thompson says the fire started in a residential backyard Tuesday afternoon and quickly destroyed a fence and some buildings.
The fire grew to about 10 acres, spreading across Glenmoor Golf Course. It was contained around 5:10 p.m.
Thompson says 30 homes were evacuated, but residents have since been allowed to return.
Thompson says three people suffered injuries believed to be minor. Information on their injuries was not immediately available.
He says the fire caused damage to several homes and properties.
Investigators are working to determine the cause of the blaze.
