LAS VEGAS (AP) — Fire officials believe squatters may be responsible for an explosion and fire that gutted a vacant office building southeast of downtown Las Vegas over the weekend.
No injuries were reported after the blaze a little after 12:30 a.m. Sunday on Boulder Highway near Sahara Avenue.
A Clark County spokeswoman says firefighters responding to a report of an explosion had to cut through a locked gate to reach the building, which consisted of two manufactured homes.
Investigators say it appears squatters were living on the property.
