Chaney raced to the second-floor bedroom of a burning rowhome on the 200 block of Higbee Street shortly after 5 a.m.
When he reached the occupant, he offered her his air mask.
The woman and three family members were unharmed.
Chaney, seen in file video during his first day back on the job after the York Street fire, was taken to Temple University Hospital in fair condition.
FOX 29's Bruce Gordon was live outside the hospital Wednesday night with the incredible story.
