Omaha Firefighters Injured in Vacant House Fire

Two fell through the floor and suffered injuries.

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Authorities say two firefighters have been injured while fighting a blaze at a vacant house in east-central Omaha.

The two fell through a floor in the house on Tuesday morning. Fire Capt. Tim McCaw says one firefighter suffered a shoulder injury and the other was being treated for smoke inhalation.

They were taken to an Omaha hospital, and their injuries were not considered life-threatening. Their names have not been released.

Firetrucks were dispatched to the fire about 5:40 a.m.

The fire cause is being investigated.
