Maryland Firefighters Rescue Several Residents from Apartment Fire

BURTONSVILLE, Md. (MyFoxDC) - Firefighters rescued several residents from a fast spreading apartment fire Friday.

The incident happened around 7:00 a.m. at the Woodlake Apartment complex on the 14000 block of Castle Boulevard in Burtonsville, Maryland.

Video from FOX 5's SKYFOX showed heavy flames thick, heavy, black smoke coming from the roof of one of the buildings in the complex. Fire trucks surrounded the building and ladders could be seen extending to the balconies of several of the units. Some parts of the roof had completely burned through and in other spots flames shot.

In some areas of the roof, flames shot through large holes created by the blaze. In other areas, complete sections of the roof had completely burned off.

Two alarms had been called to the scene. Firefighter rescued at least eight residents.

There are no known injuries at this time.
