MORAVIA, Iowa (AP) — Authorities are still searching for a couple missing since an explosion and fire destroyed their home in Moravia in southern Iowa.
Kyle Gorsh of the state fire marshal's office says the two-story farmhouse was burned to the ground. He says investigators on Wednesday are still making their way through what's left to determine if anyone was inside and what happened.
The explosion and fire happened about 10 p.m. Tuesday. The Appanoose County sheriff's office says a husband and wife, who were renting the property, were last seen about an hour earlier returning home.
Authorities say their vehicles have been accounted for, and it's believed they were inside when the explosion occurred.
