PHOENIX (AP) — A fire in a Phoenix warehouse building used by a classic car restoration company destroyed up to $1 million in auto parts and vehicles.
Capt. Scott McDonald of the Phoenix Fire Department says the blaze broke out just after 1 a.m. Thursday in a warehouse "stuffed" with cars, trucks and motorcycles. Most were not salvageable.
Co-owner Dave Sweetman told the Arizona Republic he was "overwhelmed" at the sight of the damage. He said the business has been at the location near 19th Avenue and Culver Street for about six months before the blaze.
