DETROIT (AP) — Detroit investigators say they believe arson is responsible for a blaze at a three-story apartment building that left three firefighters injured.

The firefighters were hurt when a stairway collapsed Wednesday. They were taken to Detroit Receiving Hospital, and their condition wasn't immediately known.

The Detroit News (http://bit.ly/MOkANP ) says arson investigators believe someone set the blaze. Fire Capt. Patrick McNulty says investigators found four one-gallon jugs filled with what appears to be gasoline.

Building owner Earl Newman says only one family was living in the building, and members weren't there at the time of the fire.
