COLS Podcast I: Understanding Your Six Senses on the Fireground
Tim Sendelbach, Editor-in-Chief of FireRescue magazine, interviews Captain Brent Willis and Engineer David Bullard, both with the Martinez-Columbia (GA) Fire Rescue department, about their Fire-Rescue International 2011 session “Understanding Your Six Senses on the Fireground.” The session, which will be held Wednesday, Aug. 24 at 1 p.m., is part of FRI’s Company Officer Leadership Symposium (COLS).
Willis and Bullard explain that while we use senses on the fireground all the time, we often don’t realize it. They address the importance of gut instinct, the skill of being able to sort through the stimuli your senses deliver to you, and how all of this applies to situational awareness.
